Best Papers, 2014

Every year, the editorial board of the Indian Journal of Urology selects the best original articles published in the journal and awards their first authors a certificate and plaque at the IJU Evening during the Annual meeting of the Urological Society of India.

The editorial board of the Indian Journal of Urology recognizes the selfless service of its reviewers who contribute to the quality of the publication. Best Reviewer: Dr. Suresh Bhat

Dr. Suresh Bhat is Professor and Head of Department of Urology, Govt. Medical College, Kottayam, Kerala. He obtained his MCh in Urology from M.G. University, Kottayam in 1990 and is also holds a law diploma from the National Law School, Bangalore. He has been a member of the IJU editorial committee since 2004. In addition, he is Dean, Faculty of Modern Medicine, MG University, Kottayam and Nodal officer, Institutional research committee, Medical College, Kottayam. He is a past recipient of the USI Member Travel Fellowship, Prof. AP Pandey Travel Fellowship, and USI Teacher travel Fellowship. He is the Associate Editor of a textbook titled "Essentials of Nephrology and Urology" and has around 60 journal publications.

Special Appreciation: Dr. Rishi Nayyar

Dr. Rishi Nayyar is Assistant Professor of Urology at AIIMS, New Delhi. He has published 48 papers in various national and international peer reviewed journals and has won several awards and honors, including Dr. J. R. Chawla Gold Medal in Urology, Marudhar Urology trust Jodhpur best paper award, Brij Kishore Patna Best paper prize and travel fellowship, Vijayawada prize for best poster, Agra Urological Association Best Video award, Mrs. Dwarka Prasad Travel Grant, Late G. M. Phadke Travelling Fellowship, and AUA/IAUA Chakroborty Fellowship. He is a reviewer for more than 10 international and national urology journals of repute and is an Editorial Committee member for the Indian Journal of Urology.

Special Appreciation: Dr. Mallikarjuna Reddy

Dr. Mallikarjuna Reddy did his MS from PGI Chandigarh and MCh in Urology from Hyderabad. He subsequently went on to acquire the Fellow of European Board of Urology. He is presently a Professor of Urology at Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences, Narketpally. He has a keen interest in pediatric urology and has authored 26 papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is a peer reviewer for IJU, Journal of Urology, and Journal of Endourology. He has written chapters on Laparoscopic orchidopexy and Robotic Pediatric urology. His most recent chapter is in the Urological Clinics of North America on Laparoscopic pyeloplasty in Children in the Robotic Era, which will be in print in February 2015.
